Book Week Parade
On Friday we will be having our Book Week Parade at 9.10am on the basketball court.
Students are to dress up as their favourite book character.
As part of our book week celebrations our Breakfast Club will be having a ‘Pancake Day' on Friday morning.
Everyone is welcome to come along and grab a pancake from the canteen between 8.20am and 8.50am.
Soccer Gala Day - Dubbo
Last Friday we had approximately 75 students and 8 staff members attending the St Laurence's Dubbo Soccer Gala Day. It was a great day and we had a ball competing against other schools from our area. Thanks to all the parents who were able to come across and support the students for the day.

R.E. MATTERS - Walking In The Light Of Christ
MARY - a woman of faith
Mary was a faith-filled person who loved God very much and wanted to do God’s will even when she didn’t understand. Through her life Mary was a model of service and faith. We pray that Mary becomes a model for us as we trust in God and walk in the light of Christ as she did.
The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - 15th of August
This significant feast day recalls the spiritual and physical departure of the mother of Jesus Christ from the earth, when both her soul and her body were taken into the presence of God.
The Assumption is a Holy Day of Obligation, which means Catholics are obligated to attend Mass on this day. We gather to show our love and affection for Our Blessed Mother and by doing so we bring glory to her Son.
We will celebrate the Feast of Assumption at mass on Thursday morning at 9.10am in the church led by Mrs Kelly and Yr 3. Please join us.
Thank you to Mrs Buckle and Yr 4 for their beautiful Mary MacKillop Feast day Liturgy last Thursday. An important day for our school to gather in celebration of this inspiring Australian saint.
Sport Gala Day's and Carnivals
Term Three sees our Primary students involved in sporting Gala Days. These days are conducted in a fun and safe environment, with students experiencing each sport in a participation based format. The gala days support our skill development in fundamental movement skills and weekly PE programs this year and are also a fun day out for our students. Our friends from Sacred Heart, Coolah and St Michael’s, Dunedoo will be joining us to make up our teams. Information notes will be sent home before each gala day.
WEEK 7- Yr 3-6 TOUCH FOOTY CARNIVAL - Mudgee – Wednesday 4th September
WEEK 9- Yr 3-6 NETBALL CARNIVAL - Mudgee - Friday 20th September

Our Father's Day Breakfast will be held on Friday 30th August beginning at 8.00am.
Our fathers, grandfathers and other important men in our students lives are invited to join us for bacon & eggs rolls and our Father's Day Liturgy.
St Matthew's Year 7 Orientation
Our Year 6 students began preparing for their high school futures with a visit to St Matthews Catholic School today where they trialled being a high school student for the day. Further orientation sessions for Yr 6 going into Yr 7 at local high schools are planned for next term.
Pupil Free Days Advanced Warning
Advanced warning that our 2nd and 3rd Pupil Free Days for the year will be held on:
Monday 2nd September - Monday Term 3 Week 7
Friday 25th October - Friday Term 4 Week 2
Road Safety
We have had some concerns raised about pedestrian traffic in the peak morning and afternoon periods before and after school. Please ensure that children are leaving the car from the footpath side of the vehicle. This will keep them well clear of any vehicles or buses. Please use the crossing to cross the road. It is the safest location to cross the road.
Kindergarten Transition for 2025

P&F Update
Our next meeting will be held next Thursday 22nd August at 3.45pm in the hall.
We will begin our Bazaar planning for Term 4. Please save the date for the Bazaar. It will be held on Friday 8th November from 5pm - 8pm. We would love to see you there.
Garden Club News
This week in Garden Club we were excited to remove the dead heads from our roses and other flowers, weed the grass from the Mary garden and other beds and tie up our sweet peas to train them to run up the trellis. We always start with a walk around our garden and are so excited to see an abundance of worms - our soil is extremely healthy, and to spot a few of our native bees! On this tour we also found we have some broccoli, cabbage and cauliflowers growing! We can’t wait to share our produce when it is ready - these brassicas do take a long time to grow though!
As far as planting went, we planted some more coriander, lettuce, broccoli and rocket! Watch this space!
Happy gardening, Miss Norris and Mrs Watts
