R.E Matters: Walking in the Light of Christ
This term our focus is.. "Let Your Light Shine" - never see a need without doing something about it.
Loving Father,
You created us to shine, to let the light of your love show in all we do and say. Help me always to recognise in myself the light of your risen Son, who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen
ALL SAINTS FEAST DAY - Friday 1st November
Our school will celebrate with a Liturgy at 9.00am in the Church. This will be followed by a morning tea with families on the fron playground. Please join us for this special morning.
During this year we have been focusing on "Walking in the Light of Christ". With this in mind. we are excited that each class will be participating in a "Service Activity" in the Gulgong community on Monday 4th November. We will have more on this in next week's newsletter.
All Hallows Jump Rope for Heart
JUMP ROPE FOR HEART IS NEXT WEEK
WEDNESDAY 30TH OCTOBER
The All Hallows Jump Off Day is a fun school activity that involves students, teachers and parents. All students will be part of a team in their class group. This week teams will choose a name and dress up idea in their theme - even the teachers are known to dress up!
The Jump Rope for Heart program teaches the importance of heart health and raises money for The Heart Foundation. The Heart Foundation is a charity dedicated to fighting the single biggest killer of Australians - heart disease. Schools and families across the country are supporting Australians living with heart disease. Your generous support helps to educate people and fund research to better prevent and manage heart disease into the future.
Thank you to all who have gone online to register and raise sponsorship money for the Heart Foundation. Let's keep that going. We encourage everyone to keep up the skipping and ask that everyone registers online or makes a gold coin donation on the day. Simply follow the link to get started: https://jumprope.heartfoundation.org/au/register
If you prefer to donate in cash, please send this into school in an envelope marked with your childs name and class next Wednesday, our Jump Off Day. The amount of money each child raises is not important, it is the awareness of heart health and skipping skills we are concentrating on.
Information for the day:
* All students come to school dressed in their JRFH team costumes.
* The whole team will take turns skipping for 2 hours
10.00am - 11.00am RECESS 11.30am - 12.30pm
The Jump Off will start at 10.00am with the Demo Team performing
* Throughout the day competitions will be held to add to the fun. The judges will be looking for:
- Best Dressed Team
- Team with the Best Name
- Student/Teacher/Parent who can skip the longest without stopping
* All students are reminded to wear joggers and their school hat as well as sunscreen (this will need to be reapplied during the day). Anyone with their own skipping rope is asked to bring it.
* Please bring extra water
Please come along and join in the fun
Sporting Success
Good luck to Lilah Gray and Will Bowen who are competing at the NSW PSSA Athletics Championships in Sydney today and tomorrow in the Discus events. Lilah and Will have trained exceptionally hard and are most deserving of their success. Even to make it to State is a massive achievement. Good luck and remember how proud we are of you.
Congratulations to Ruby and Maddie Pracey-Holmes and Amber-Lilly Sunderland who competed at the National Interschools Horse Championships last weekend. The girls were fantastic representatives of our school and came away with some fantastic results. We are very proud of you all.

P & F Update - BAZAAR
Our next P & F Meeting will be held next Mlnday night to organise our Bazaar Market Stall that will be held on Friday 8th November. The meeting will be held at the Post Office Hotel at 6.00pm to discuss the Bazaar. Please come along if you are able to attend.
Bazaar:
- Please return your helpers sheets. Thank you to everyone who has indicated their willingness to help out. We still need lots of help to be able to run stalls at the Bazaar.
- We are asking Infants to donate cakes/slices for the Cake Stall
- We are asking Year 3 & 4 classes to donate lollies & biscuits for the cookie decorating stall. Notes came home with these classes earlier this week.
- We are asking Year 5 & 6 classes to donate salad items for the barbecue.
- Please let your class teacher or Brad know if you are able to help out.
Here are a few ways you can contribute to the success of our Bazaar:

Donate: Whether it's items for stalls, baked goods for the bake sale or your time to provide a service, your contributions are greatly appreciated.
Spread the word: Encourage friends and family to attend the Bazaar. The more people we can involve, the more successful the event will be.

Garden Club News
Last week we had a quiet week in the garden due to all the beautiful rain! Our plants have recognised that it is well and truly Spring and have shown their gratitude for the rain by blooming amazingly! We will have so many strawberries soon.
It's been wonderful to have a stroll around. Please feel free to come and check out our space next time you're at school! Happy gardening, Miss Norris & Mrs Watts.
