2025 Newsletter Term 1 Week 5
Letters from the Principal
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Week 5!!
All Hallows continues to be a hive of activity with a number of events taking place both in and out of the classroom in the coming weeks. I was very proud to see so many students representing our school with such enthusiasm at the Northern Region Swimming Carnival in Gulgong last week. Our school spirit was definitely evident as students cheered on their friends in every event.
This week we celebrate a number of events in the Religious life of our school. We had a range of activities for Shrove Tuesday yesterday, Ash Wednesday Mass today and we are very pleased that we were joined by parents and the Parish community for Mass.
Donnie - Update
Donnie is making a great recovery from her accident two weeks ago and has returned home from John Hunter Hospital. She is hopeful of returning to school in some capacity next week for a few hours a day.
You’re an amazing young girl Donnie!!!
Pupil Free Day
A reminder that we have a Pupil Free Day on Monday 24th March. No supervision will be available at school that day.

R.E. Matters
The theme for 2025 is…

All Hallows - People of Hope
2025 is a Year of Jubilee!
God of goodness and mercy,
Hear my prayer as I begin this
Lenten journey with you.
Let me be honest with myself as I look into my heart and soul,
noticing the times I turn away from you.
Guide me as I humbly seek to repent and return to your love.
Help us to build a better world where each of us can become the best person we can be.
AMEN

This week our classes will be focusing on learning about LENT and the importance of quiet reflection, prayer and giving to others.
Lent is a six week period of preparation for Easter, ending in Holy Week. This season of Lent we are asked to FAST, PRAY and GIVE to others. Today our school community gathered at mass for Ash Wednesday – the beginning of Lent.
Project Compassion
Project Compassion boxes went home today to each family. We are hoping to fill the large Project Compassion box at the front office by the end of Lent. Families are being asked to collect their small change in their own Project Compassion boxes at home during Lent. The act of ‘almsgiving’ is another way we can ‘be generous to our neighbour’ during Lent.
Caritas Australia invites you to put your compassion into action this Lent. As individuals we can help others, but when we come together though Project Compassion, our good becomes great. Our combined kindness grows. And when we unite with each other – and with people living in poverty – we can create BIG, lasting change.
Let’s all Unite Against Poverty! There is no time like 2025!

Loreto Normanhurst Visit

This week we have been joined here at All Hallows by eight Year 10 students and two teachers from Loreto Normanhurst in Sydney.
As a boarding school with many students from rural communities in NSW, Loreto Normanhurst is committed to fostering a sense of community between rural and metro communities. The primary aim is to do this through developing the understanding of students from all schools involved in the partnership through an exposure to differing lifestyles. Our students thoroughly enjoy the visit and enjoy having the opportunity to talk to the girls from Sydney. They will have their final day with us tomorrow. We thank the girls for their contribution for our school and look forward to the visit again next year.
