Catholic Schools Week
What's it all about?
Catholic Schools Week (CSW) 2025 will be held from 19th to 23rd May (Term 2, Week 4).
It will once again involve the communities of all Catholic primary and secondary schools across NSW. The main aim of CSW is to raise public awareness of the wonderful opportunities that Catholic schools provide, and to celebrate our history, our distinctiveness and our many achievements.
The theme for Catholic Schools Week 2025 will be
"Guided by Fatih, Inspired by Hope, Committed to Learning"
More information will be distributed early next term.
Sport
Rugby League Dunedoo
Today we have 35 students and 4 staff members in Dunedoo for the Rugby League Gala Day. We look forward to sharing a great day with our friends from St Michael’s Dunedoo and Sacred Heart Coolah.
Netball Gala Day
The St Matthews Netball Gala Day will be held on Friday 4th April 2025 (Week 9)
All the primary girls participate in this day each year, combining with our friends from Sacred Heart, Coolah and St Michael’s, Dunedoo.
Students will wear their sports uniform, joggers and school hat. Please ensure your child is wearing sunscreen in the morning and has sunscreen to reapply throughout the day. The school will also pack sunscreen.
Students will need to pack recess and lunch for the day. Smaller snack sized foods are preferred as there is not always a lot of time between games. Please pack two (2) bottles of water.
All students will travel by bus together. Parents are encouraged to come along and support the teams.
The bus will leave All Hallows at 8.15am and return by 3.00pm in time for afternoon school buses.
If there are any netball umpires who would like to help our teams out by umpiring on the day please let Ms Statham know as soon as possible. Thankyou
Diocesan Winter Sports Trials
Diocesan Winter Sports Trials are being held this Friday in Bathurst and we have students trialling in Rugby League and Netball.
Good luck to Braxton, Ivy, Issy and Brycen. Thank you for representing All Hallows at these events.
We wish Aliyah all the best at the Polding Swimming Carnival next week in Sydney.
Stage 1 Holtermann Excursion
Year 1 and Year 2 will be going to Holtermann Museum for an excursion on Wednesday the 2nd of April. Mrs MacLean will accompany the students with a teacher assistant.
Road Safety
Tips for keeping your children safe when dropping off and picking up at school
Here are a few things you can do to help keep your children and others safer during drop-off and pick-up times during the school week:
- Make sure your children are fastened in the correct child car seat for their age and size and that it is fitted correctly.
- Stick to the 40km/h speed limit in a school zone and look out for children who may be about.
- Watch for flashing lights on buses. They let you know that there may be children crossing or about to cross the road. A 40km/h limit applies when school bus lights flash.
- Always give way to pedestrians particularly when entering and leaving driveways.
- Always park and turn legally around schools. Manoeuvres such as U-turns and three-point turn are dangerous during busy school drop-off and pick-up times.
- Drop your children off and pick them up on the school side of the road in your school’s designated drop-off and pick-up area. Never call out to them from across the road – they may run to you without checking for traffic.
- It’s safest for children to get out of the car through the Safety Door, away from passing traffic. This is the rear footpath side door of the car.
For more information on keeping our kids safe around schools visit the parents section on safetytown.com.au

All Hands On Ukes - School Performance Tours
This Friday will be held on Friday 28th of March. The school is covering the cost of the performance.
Easter Hat Parade
We will be having an Easter Hat Parade this year on the last Friday day of Term 1- 11th April.
We will be holding the hat parade at 9am as soon as the bell rings so families are able to watch. Children will make their own hats at home and bring them in on the day to wear.
We will keep you updated with details as the end of the term draws closer.
Lost Property
Our lost property pile is starting to grow again. Unfortunately none of these items have names on them which makes it impossible to return them to their rightful owners. If you are missing any items, could you please ask your child to check and see if they recognise anything or pop in yourself and have a look in the morning. They are on a table on the verandah outside the office.
Could you please also check uniform items that you have at home, especially hats and jumpers, to ensure you have the correct ones. We've had reports of missing items, with names, that may have inadvertently made it home with someone else.
Healthy Lunchboxes
Research says that a child that is hungry will struggle to concentrate in the classroom. It is important to pack enough healthy and filling food to provide your child with the energy to last throughout the day. For a healthy lunchbox pick & mix something from each food group 1 - 6!
Pick and mix one tasty option from each of the five core food groups to create a healthy lunchbox every day:
- Fruit (e.g. fresh, frozen, pureed and canned in natural juice)
- Vegetables, legumes and beans
- Milk, yoghurt, cheese and alternatives
- Lean meats and poultry, fish, eggs, tofu, nuts and seeds, and legumes/beans
- Grain (cereal) foods
- Plain water
