The theme for 2025 is…
All Hallows - People of Hope
2025 is a Year of Jubilee!
Feast of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop- 8th August
“There where you are you will find God”. (1871)
Mary MacKillop was a woman of HOPE. She was noted for her trust in the providence of God and miracles of healing have been attributed to her. Mary MacKillop was very conscious of the plight of the poor and needy. She worked with families that lived in isolated areas of Australia. As a result, Mary MacKillop pioneered a new form of religious life in Australia and commenced a “system” of “Josephite" schools that would provide education, especially for the children of the poor. In 1873, Pope Pius IX gave Papal approval for the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. Even today, many Australians can say that they too have felt the impact of the enormous work started by St. Mary of the Cross (MacKillop), having been educated or cared for, by the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
Year 4 have been preparing our School Liturgy for the Feast of Mary MacKillop to be held in the Mons Frawley Hall on Thursday 7th August at 12.30pm
Please join us as we honour this special Australian saint.

FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION OF MARY INTO HEAVEN - 15th August

On Friday 15th August, the school and Parish community will come together to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. On this feast of Mary we celebrate a special favour that God gave to Mary, our Mother.
The Assumption means that Mary was taken up into the glory of heaven, not only with her soul, but also with her body. As we celebrate the feast day of Mary, we can ask our Blessed Mother Mary to guide, protect and care for us
Please join us at Mass on Friday 15th August at 9.15am.
SPORT
St Laurence's Dubbo Soccer Gala Day.
On Friday we will have approximately 80 students and 8 staff members attending the St Laurence's Dubbo Gala Day. It will be a great day and we are looking forward to competing against other schools from our area.
The St Laurence’s Soccer Gala Day will be held in Dubbo this Friday 8th August.
The bus will/ be leaving at 7.00am and will NOT be back in time for the afternoon buses. We expect to return to school at 4.45pm.
All students will wear their sports uniform and school hat on this day.
Shin pads must be worn by all players and all players will need to wear long footy socks. The school has a supply of shin pads and footy socks that may be borrowed by those students that need them. These will be given our at the Gala Day.
If your child would normally wear a mouth guard, they should bring this on the day. The wearing of football boots is NOT ALLOWED - joggers only please.
Students need to bring a packed recess and lunch, as well as at least two drink bottles of water. We look forward to a fun day.
NORTHERN REGION ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
Last Wednesday, 45 students represented All Hallows at the Northern Region Athletics Carnival in Dubbo. Despite the VERY wet weather, it was a terrific day of competition and fun for our athletes and their support crew ( parents, grandparents, siblings and teachers)
Congratulations to Brycen Butler who was named Junior Boy Age Champion – A wonderful achievement. From this carnival, All Hallows has thirteen students selected into the Northern Region Athletics Team, with quite a few more just missing out, coming fourth in their events.
We were very proud of the effort, sportsmanship, team spirit and positive behaviour shown by our team throughout the day. Thankyou to the parent volunteers who helped Mr Toole and Mrs Searle with the officiating and Mrs Kelly with team managing. It really was a great team effort.
DIOCESAN ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

BOOK WEEK
Book Week is in Week 5 this year. As we are in the middle of preparing for our production we have decided not to add any costume pressure this year to our families. Therefore there will be no book week parade this year. We will have a parade in 2026 again.
School Production - ‘All Hallows Amazing Race’
In 2025, we are pleased to announce that we will be putting on a school production.
We will be presenting ‘All Hallows Amazing Race’.
We will be hosting performances on:
Thursday 4th September
11.30am - Matinee
6.30pm - Performance
Information will come out next week on how to order tickets. There will be a limited number of tickets for each show for each family. The Opera House has a capacity of 275 seats.
End of Year Presentation Changes
After careful consideration we have made the decision to hold this year's awards ceremony during the school day instead of during the evening. The reason we have made the decision is we want to give all students the opportunity to be at the awards ceremony. We have noticed a trend over recent years of less students attending the night time presentation evening. We will evaluate after the Presentation afternoon this year.
Our Awards Assembly will be held on Thursday 11th December at 1pm at Memorial Hall.

UNIFORM
Well done to everyone who has come back to school wearing their full winter uniform. Just a reminder that all students need to be wearing the correct uniform including tie, shoes and socks. We look very smart when everyone is wearing the correct uniform.
UNIFORM SHOP OPENING HOURS
Our P&F uniform Shop is open on Tuesday mornings 8.30am - 9.15am. Should you need items outside this time please message through the P&F Facebook page and someone from the P&F will arrange a collection from the office for uniform items.
SCHOOL BEANIES
The school is now selling beanies for $18. They are available from the Uniform Shop and the School Office. They can be worn on cool days. I would advise students to have their hats in their bags so they can change later in the day if it warms up.
